Take a moment to be grateful

Take a moment to be grateful today. No matter what is going on in our lives, there is always something to be grateful for. Happiness comes from being grateful for what we have. Unless we appreciate what we have now, how can we ask for more? When we are working towards a goal or expecting things, we are anxious- will this happen, will I get it, will everything be alright?…

Pause. Breathe.

Now take a moment- A moment to realize what you have already! To get a perspective- let’s think about those people in the world who are fighting to survive!

Gratitude and happiness go hand in hand. The more thankful we are, the happier we will be. And the happier we are, the more joyful we feel. Gratitude helps us feel abundant and get in abundance. Practicing it regularly is our easy escape to joy. Buddha says, “You have no cause for anything but gratitude and joy.”

Gratitude is the open door to abundance.

So, take a minute or two. Look outside, feel the air. Feel your breath. Feel your body. Be thankful for it. Open your arms and welcome what is offered to you. Say your thank yous! Don’t forget the little things that we never consider a blessing, but miss dearly when absent- things like our morning tea/ coffee, clean air, our ability to walk/ talk and so much more. There are at least fifty things to be thankful for. As you say your thank yous, feel thankful too. The moment you feel grateful for what you have, that’s the moment life decides to give you more! May you be peaceful and joyous 🙂
